High Effiency

Commercial refrigeration system fan motors use a lot of power. This is especially problematic in evaporator fans, because excess power is converted to heat, which the compressor must extract. It is critical to make fan motors as efficient as possible. That’s why Unada’s EC motors maintain high efficiency - up to70 percent – over a very wide range of loads. Compare that to the typical shaded-pole motor’s 20-percnet efficiency. Unada’s EC motors use less than 1/3 the power the shaded-pole motor needs and adds the COP and capacity benefits of reduced heat load in the cold space. Glass door merchandizers using plug-in systems can cut electricity consumption by as much as 30 percent by switching to Unada’s EC motor. The Unada’s smart control features increase power conservation even further tuning airflow to the precise system needs.

Smart Control

Unada's unique third-wire design allows motor programming in or out of the cooler, variable speed control, and programmable reversibility and three-speed operation all in a single motor version. Simply by connecting the third (black) wire to a switched phase output, such as the compressor switch or Wellington controller, you can add a second speed, direction change, or programmed behavior such as delayed start/stop, all without extra connections or opening a programming hatch.

Fan Assembly

UC+ motors are can be used with most axial fans from 154 to 254 millimeters (6 to 10 inches) and for tangential fans up to 300 millimeters. Long-shaft versions are available for agitator applications.
